Andre van As will be launching his inaugural exhibition, "My Fair Lady", consisting of floral images at Philadelphia's Muse Gallery on Wednesday August 5th, 2015. The exhibition will run until Saturday August 30th. Gallery hours are from noon to 5pm, Wednesday to Sunday. The Muse Gallery at 52 N Second Street in the Philadelphia's Old City is one of several other galleries in this district. The Muse Gallery, established in 1978, is an artists' cooperative dedicated to encourage and promote its members’ artistic expression through abstract, conceptual and representational forms. Reflecting an aesthetic that awakens awareness, the Muse Gallery affirms the shared experience of art between the artist and the community. “My Fair Lady” is inspired by recognition of the flower seller in Covent Garden in the famous movie featuring Audrey Hepburn, who blossomed into a beautiful and sophisticated woman when given the chance to take advantage of careful nurturing. The exhibition showcases a close up and intimate depiction of flowers that are commonly seen in our daily surroundings. The exquisite detail and rich color rendering of the images creates a new look at familiar faces that will bring a fresh appreciation of the exquisite beauty of the flowers that we consider to be part of our daily scene.
